Robert’s Bio

Robert James Collier Sr. was born June 14, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois to the late K D

Collier and Sonja Marie Wohler. Robert confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. 

He received an education at Luther South High School and further his education at

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.  After the passing of his father in 1976,  Robert

and his mother moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he continue his education at  Arizona

State University. 

In 1982, Robert traveled to Houston, TX on a business trip.  It was there that he met the

love of his life Jeannetta.  After a 4 year of a long-distance courtship, Jeannetta moved

to Phoenix. Shortly afterwards they were married and decided to start a family. 

In 1998, Robert and Jeannetta moved to Texas with 2 children and 2 dogs in toe. 

Robert lived a full life, he believed that his most important job was providing for his

family.  Although his life was indeed full, he always made time to volunteer and use his

talent in his community. 

Robert departed this life on Friday, September 22, 2023 at home in Argyle, TX

surrounding by family and close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, K D

Collier and his brother, Gregory Collier.

Robert leaves to cherish his memories; wife, Jeannetta L Grant Collier;  mother, Sonja

Marie Wohler; brother, Kenneth D. Collier; daughter, Shawanda D. Collier; son, Robert

James Collier Jr; and twin grand-daughters, Taylor G. Collier and Tiffany G. Collier, a

host of sister and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, 2 godson, 1 goddaughter

and friends who loved him dearly.

I am so excited about the journey ahead, so please don’t cry.

I walked the path that was designed for me and shared my love along the way.

Be happy for me, because I am no longer in pain and live your life with a smile on your face.

I truly appreciate the love you’ve shown, but the travel ahead is for me alone.

So, if you must grieve don’t grieve too long, just know the memories are in your heart.

My love will surround you as you need, your heart will let you know when I am near.

One day you will travel this way and I will greet you with a big smile and a warm embrace.
